PIPE_NAME -- pipe on which test-sim listens for events (no default -- MUST BE SET)
SIM_C2 -- simulator wave velocity (default 0.1)
SIM_DAMPING -- simulator damping factor (default 0.1)
SIM_DT -- simulator integration time (default 0.1)
