This directory contains documentation on the Quake Data Merge software
(QDM). It was formerly known as CNSSM for Council of the National
Seismic Systems Merge software).

If you want to download the software, change directories to

ftp://clover.wr.usgs.gov/pub/QDM/src

In that directory is a compressed tar file that contains the latest
QDM.jar file, sample configuration files, and the QDM.html file that
includes the the installation documentation. The QDM.jar file in the
src directory is there for convenience for users who simply wish to
download the latest version of the software.

Note that if you download and extract the files in the tar file, it
will create a directory named with the current version number. You
should create a separate QDM directory and copy the files from the
above directory into your working QDM directory for routine operations.

See
ftp://clover.wr.usgs.gov/pub/QDM/QDM.html
for more information about installation and operation of QDM.

You can verify that you are running the latest version of QDM by
looking at the first line of any log file, which reports the version of
your program. The latest version number of QDM is indicated by the
name of the tar file (e.g., QDM_v1.3.tar is version 1.3).
